Day 3

It has been a Ferguson week along with school. He had a "spa day" yesterday, and then he had shots today. Probably he liked yesterday better...but I don't speak dog so ??

Today Charlotte listened to The Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone. She then make a crafty gingerbread girl using the printout at Learn Create Love .

 

Andra started her unit on Dinosaurs. 

 

First Day of Home School

We got off to a slow start. Some frustration...a little crying...but we ended the day on a high note. It is hard to go from (home = play) to (home = play + work).  The highlights were taking our photos to compare at the end of the school year, and they really liked the home-made bookmarks.

Some fancy paper, stickers, a laminating machine, hole punch, and ribbon.

Charlotte's favorites are Ferguson the dog, flowers and gardening, the color blue, chocolate bars, and playing ball.

Andra's favorites are Art, the Vampire Finch (don't ask), all the colors & peace, flowers and gardening, and also chocolate bars.

Charlotte turns five

August 7, 2012...Charlotte was born 5 years ago today. She is growing up too fast. Already a world traveler, she is settling in nicely in her new home in Kentucky. We love you Charlotte! Happy Birthday!

Charlotte helped to decorate her cake this year. She requested Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner. We had a call from Grandma and Grandpa, and Nana watched on Skype as she opened her presents.

Grandma sent a new outfit but the bottoms are still a little too big. :)

Spa Day

We held an impromptu Spa Day. Apparently I work them too hard and they had puffy eyes. Charlotte ate one of the cucumbers afterward.

Zoo Frankfurt

Off to another zoo. Kids love seeing all the different animals. Andra posed as the Rhino this time, and there was a funny sign that warns people to watch out for Rhino poo.

Jump House in Spring

Jumpy Houses are always fun for the kids. They jump, climb, and run while mom has a latte.

This one has a huge volcano in the middle and live palm trees. I haven't seen a palm tree in almost 3 years! I miss home.

Its fun to watch them climb and then slide back down.

All my "kids" have a good time

Charlotte really stayed focused while driving..most of the time.
