Jump House in Spring

Jumpy Houses are always fun for the kids. They jump, climb, and run while mom has a latte.

This one has a huge volcano in the middle and live palm trees. I haven't seen a palm tree in almost 3 years! I miss home.

Its fun to watch them climb and then slide back down.
All my "kids" have a good time

Charlotte really stayed focused while driving..most of the time.

Pillow Talk

Doggie Princess...looks like the dog has feet.

A conversation with Charlotte at bedtime...

Mommy:   It's really late, so no talking to your sister in bed tonight.
Charlotte:  But I like talking in bed.
Mommy:   I know, but it's way past your bedtime and you need to go right to sleep.
Charlotte: {Pause} You know mom, I really don't listen to your rules.
Mommy:  {Tries not to laugh} Why not?
Charlotte: Because I am little.
Mommy:  Well, you should listen to me though.
Charlotte: You said listen tomato. {Laughs}

Strawberry Picking

In the spirit of, "Kids should really learn to work for their food", we took the girls to pick some strawberries in late May. It was bright and a little hot, but totally worth it. These were some of the best strawberries I have ever tasted...so good!

First Aid with the Girl Scouts

Earning patches is fun. Here are some pictures of Andie earning her Safety Patch.

Kurpfalz-Park : May 2011

Daisy Troop 005 used some hard earned cookie money to go to Kurpfalz-Park. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a great time. Andie (and I) made many friends by participating with the troop this year, and we miss them already.

Such a pretty smile...

She just needed me to shade her.

Girls waiting patiently.

We have discovered that many attractions in Germany do not have the same safety requirements that we see stateside. This flying swing thing did not have anyone watching it, and the drop off from the platform is pretty high (over water but still!). It was basically a "put your kid on and hope they stay on" type of situation.

This next super fun ride was called the coaster. It's like a sled on rails with a hand brake. Along the path there are "danger" signs that remind you to brake in order to avoid getting thrown off the track. We went twice. The first time we went slow and then the 2nd time I let us go a little bit faster. It was fun.

This is the park's character. He comes off as a tad creepy.

Father - Daughter Dance 2011

The Girl Scouts had their own father & daughter dance this year. It was a first for both Andra and Mark. Andie borrowed the lovely dress from Hailey next door, and had a fun time posing and feeling pretty.

Mark dressed up in his blues, and was the perfect escort. There was dancing and snacking. Charlotte and I stayed home...I can't remember what we did.

Easter 2011

Easter on post seemed to extend over a few days this year. We started with dying and decorating our own Easter eggs. Then we went on an Easter egg hunt/festival on post. Finally, on Easter morning, we had our own egg hunt in the backyard.

Egg decorating:
Our neighbors joined us on the back porch for some decorating fun. This year we had glitter! (I am glad we were outside)

Charlotte and Kailee decided to do a taste test. Charlotte declared, “I don’t like the nut!”

At the community egg hunt Charlotte was on a mission.

The Easter Bunny kind of freaks her out.

Daddy volunteered for “Pie in the face”. I love how the girls really worked as a team!

Tastes good too!

Hunting @ Home:

We left baskets out with carrots in them, and the Easter bunny filled them the next day with goodies.
Daddy: Why are you getting into the candy?
Charlotte: Because it's so yummy.
