Burgers’ Zoo in Arnheim, Netherlands

We went on a family trip to the Netherlands after Mark’s change of command. It is always our favorite trip in early spring because you can see the tulips. 

Our first stop was the zoo…for the kiddos of course. The animals looked a bit bored at times, but it was still nice to see them, and no one was hiding because the weather was perfect.

 

 

Be wary of angry Tortoises wearing tennis shoes.

 

Back at the hotel there was time to take a coffee & apple break.

Cute conversation of the day:

Charlotte: “Are we going back to the show-n-tell ?”

Mom: “Where?”

Charlotte: “The place we slept last night.”

Mom: “Oh! You mean the hotel ? Yes, we are.”

A Day at the Doggie Park - April 2011

We adopted a dog earlier this year (Mikey), but I ended up being allergic to him. I never had a problem with Dewey, but he was considered a hypoallergenic pooch. Mikey was a great dog and we were sad to see him go. It was either me or him, and the family voted to keep me. Whew! 

 

We did find him a good home, but before he left we were able to spend some time with him. We took him to the dog park on post and everyone seemed to have a great time. Perhaps the girls might want to go back to play at the dog park sans dog?

 

 

After we said goodbye to Mikey, Andie asked “Can we get a crocker spaniel?”

Getting the girls to pose for a picture can be challenging. Especially when they don’t really want to…or the sun is in their eyes. This is the best I could get…
