Secret Santa, Christmas Crafts, & New Furniture

Christmas has finally come to a close and the new year has started, and Andie is back in school... I am going to try and catch up on all of the past events that have been happening over the last couple weeks.

We did a Secret Santa with 3 of our closest neighbors.  Between the 4 families we have 7 kiddos ages 2-6.  For three days we "secretly" exchanged small gifts in each others mailboxes, and on the 4th day (Christmas Eve) everyone came to our place for the party.  I made this little note, and Claudia attached it to reindeer headbands and delivered it to each of the kiddos.  The idea was to wear the ears when coming to the craft party and gift exchange. Andie was a trooper...Charlotte was not as excited about the ears...

During the day of the party, we were able to keep their attention long enough to complete two ornaments (one tree and one gingerbread man) and make some reindeer food (oatmeal & glitter).  We did sprinkle the food outside our front door before going to bed.

Because there was Christmas music playing, Andie had to dance...and "N" didn't seam to mind.

Our new furniture arrived the day before, so we had plenty of room for all to sit and craft.  The only thing is that glitter got into the table and chairs.  I assured Mark that it would eventually go away...perhaps...:) Having and Art teacher for a wife kind of implies finding glitter and glue in odd places...

We love our new furniture, and it makes the room feel so warm. We notice many drafts in our house and are thankful we don't have to pay to heat it.  The housing was built in the 40's.  Considering its age, its holding up pretty well.
